Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team in Memphis, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of various tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in our production processes. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of precision machining, metal forming, and an ability to work with tight tolerances. This position offers LMIA / Visa Sponsorship for qualified international candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, repair, and maintain precision tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Operate a wide range of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to create or modify tooling.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling issues, implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company policies.
  • Conduct quality inspections of completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Expertise in metal forming, stamping, and cutting techniques.
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
  • Previous experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
