Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Foley Artist to join our dynamic post-production sound team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting immersive soundscapes for film and television, with a strong understanding of how foley enhances narrative and emotional impact. This role requires an individual who can invent, record, and synchronize a wide range of everyday sounds, from footsteps and clothing rustles to specific object manipulations, to perfectly match on-screen actions. You will work closely with sound supervisors, editors, and mixers in a collaborative environment to deliver world-class audio for a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sound supervisors and directors to understand the specific foley requirements for various scenes and projects.
  • Perform and record foley elements (footsteps, props, cloth, etc.) accurately and expressively in sync with picture.
  • Select and utilize appropriate props and surfaces to achieve desired sound textures and characteristics.
  • Edit and clean foley recordings, ensuring high-quality audio free of unwanted noise.
  • Organize and maintain foley props and recording spaces.
  • Adhere to project deadlines and deliver foley assets to specification.
  • Continuously develop new techniques and creative approaches to foley artistry.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Foley Artist in film or television post-production.
  • Exceptional creativity and an imaginative approach to sound design.
  • Strong sense of rhythm, timing, and synchronization.
  • Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Audio Engineering, Film Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with various microphone techniques and recording equipment.
  • Familiarity with sound libraries and sound effects databases.
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating foley artistry in past projects.
