Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field Tech Aide to join our team in Katy, TX. In this role, you will support our experienced Field Technicians in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Spectrum’s range of services for residential and business customers. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to learn the telecommunications industry from the ground up. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to customer locations within the designated service area. You will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive seamless service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Field Technicians with installations, repairs, and maintenance of cable, internet, and voice services.
  • Perform basic wiring, signal testing, and equipment setup under supervision.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Manage and organize tools and equipment in the company vehicle.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
  • Document work performed and complete necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and dispatch.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in electronics/technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Technical certifications or vocational training.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and applications.
